In trouble again ...

OK OK Enough people have hassled me to make me post again to the good old blog. LOL

I know I don't update often but doesn't that just mean that I am so busy ... No I know it means I am just so slack !!

Wow what have we been up to ... should be what haven't we been up to.

James has been busy at school and seems to be doing really well. He got a great report card last Term and seems to be enjoying everything at school ... especially maths (I take credit for that gene LOL - Cameron is the Scientist and I'm the Mathematician LOL). He had a bit of a problem a couple of weeks ago with some boys having a go at him cos he isn't very good as soccer (which seems to be the game to play at lunchtime) but I think we have it sorted now and Daddy has pumped up the Soccer Ball for practice sessions at home - if we ever have a sunny weekend around here again that is.

David is coming along in leaps and bounds. He is just not the same boy we sent off to Pre-School at the start of the year. I just get so overwhelmed with how much he had improved with the Speech and Language lately. He floors us somethimes now with some of the things he says - it's so great.

We actually have a meeting at the Early Intervention Centre down in Caboolture today to enrol him in the last term of the year for the other 2 days a week (plus pre-school) to try and get him more up to speed with some one-on-one speech/language help. We have been trying to get this to happen for quite a while (nearly a year) but one thing or another kept getting in the way. I do struggle with the idea of sending him there but I just have to put myself and my insecurities aside and do what has to be the best thing for him. He has been accepted to do Prep next year rather than go into Grade 1 which is going to be great for him too.

Cammy has also been busy with his work - going Interstate to talk at a couple of Conferences over the last couple of months too - one in Sydney and one in Adelaide - as well as the big 100th analyser thing in Bundaberg earlier in the year. He keeps saying I should come along with him to these things ... but who gets to look after the kids LOL Although it seems like a good idea at the time we haven't been able to work out the logistics of me coming along - maybe next time. There is some talk about going to Perth later in the year - now that would be nice ... I've never been there!! He had a shocker of a flu the other week and actaully took 3 days off work and went to see a doctor. When he asked me to drive him down to the medical centre I knew he must have really been sick LOL What is it with men when they are sick LOL!!

Me ... well I'm boring ... you all know that LOL Most of you know that there have been a few changes at The Scrap Heap so we have been busy working out what needs to be done and it all seems to be working well.

We have just launched a New IT Class Kit this month as well. Michelle has put to gether a terrific Class using some of the new Fancy Pants papers and we have put the Kit together to buy with the Instructions to complete her layout and everything in it. We will be offering a new one each month around the 15th of the month.

Another SWIG weekend away is coming up too in about 5 weeks so I am busy putting together the class kits and everything else that goes with that. We have heaps of Classes to choose from this SWIG and I have to say the girls have excelled with them - I know I wouldn't be able to decide which ones I want to do!!

Oh yeah and there is also some very exciting news for The Scrap Heap in the pipeline but I can't say anything else about that just for now - I guess you will all just have to keep checking my non-updated blog to find out what it is.

Now if only I could find some time to SCRAP!!

What The .....

Uh Oh I've been Tagged and my only question would be ... why would anyone need to tag me - I update all the time ROFL!!!

So here goes thanks to Bev ...

1. How old are you? 36 now and the next birthday is in December ... getting ever closer to those 40's!

2. How many kids do you have if any? I have James who is 6 (7 in 56 days - yes he is counting down already) and David (my Christmas Day baby) who is 4 1/2.

3. Are you married, single, divorced, widow? Married to Cameron and 8th anniversary coming up soon. Does that mean we have made it through the 7 year itch year??

4. What is your occupation? I own The Scrap Heap Online Scrapbooking Shop with my Mum, Beryl. Also around the house I am the cook (which is why we eat out a lot) , cleaner (which is why the house is a sty most of the time) and laundry lady (who never irons LOL). Ahhh the life!!

5. What are your passions? My 3 Beautiful Boys, my scrapbooking and the shop and everythign that goes with it.

6. Are you a dreamer or a dream seeker? I really don't know - there are things that I dream about that I know will never happen but generally I just do what needs to be done to get things done IYKWIM.

7. Are you happy with the way you life has turned out? I really would have to say a big yes on this one. I am married to a gorgeous and oh so patient man who puts up with me and all my crap and we have 2 beautiful boys who really just bring me so much joy (even today when Dave is having a cranky fit day) and I have a fulfilling job that I am lucky enough to be able to really enjoy doing - and I get my scrapping stuff cheap *wink*

8. Are you a scrapper and if so how many hours a week do you scrap? Ahhhh hard question - I would say about 6 hours a week on average - but there are some weeks where I go silly and do heaps and heaps and then weeks where I am really busy with work and the boys and what not and don't do anything all week. But then the withdrawals set in and I start to get the shakes and have a big scrappign day ... which is what I am hoping to do today ... after I finish the washing that is.

9. What do you want to do before you die? Nothing in particular - maybe go on one more cruise ... or take the boys to disneyland ... LOL

10. What is your favorite food? Mexican (especially Montezumas), but pizza is good too - oh seriously anything that someone else cooks for me is pretty much a winner in my books.

11. What is the food you hate the most? raw tomato - can't stomach it. Fine when cooked into something but never on it's own and never ever ever raw!!! Just the thought is making me shake my head and pull faces LOL

12. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you? Going on Family Feud (no not with Bert - ages ago) and losing with 0 points on the board.

13. What is the happiest day of your life thus far? Oh that is too hard - there are so many days that I can look back on and a get a little catch in my throat and can't help but have a big smile on my face. But they are not just the big things (you know the ones - getting married and having babies and all) some are just everyday things those things that just happen and make me smile.

14. Are you a neat freak? Or a dirty house cleaner? Hmmmm I used to be almost anal in my organising of things and generally the world was a lot tidier but with an absent minded professor for a hubby and two wild boys in the house - I have had to pretty much give up being a neat freak and just go with the flow. So now the house is usually very messy with piles of crap everywhere (cos we have very little storage space as well which doesn't help) but I can pretty much tell you where anything you are looking for is in the house - well almost anything LOL

Phew- done!!!! Now I Tag Debbie Y :-)

I've been told ...

by Chrissy that I am a slack and useless blogger - and I must agree wholeheartedly LOL But since she has issued a Challenge to all us AussieLayouts bloggers to update and share a layout ... here I am!!

Well .... what has happened since my last post ?? Hmmm ... geez what hasn't happened ??

Well James lost another tooth about 2 weeks later but there has been no more movement (so to speak) since then. I am just waiting waiting waiting for those horrible dead two top teeth to go but I bet they will be the last ones to come out - isn't it always the way. He was a bit let down though that he only got a $1 for this tooth when he got $2 for the first one LOL. I kept telling him that the first one is worth more and he seems OK with it now.

He got his report card for Term 2 last week and has improved in nearly everything ... even Music LOL Oh that poor boy takes after his Father musically !! He even got a little Award on parade on the last day of school for improving in class and doing really well with his spelling words - so cute !!

He is busy working hard to get through the Harry Potter games at the moment - which is great for school holidays.

David is doing so much better with his speech and language therapy. I think Pre-School has been the best thing we could have done for him and I am sooooo glad I didn't take one medical professional's advice and keep him home for the year. It is just sooo wonderful to have a child that I can have a converstion with and that can understand me and answer me and follow directions etc etc. We have put an application in for him to start the prep year next year rather than go into Grade 1 - even though he is out of the cut-off date by 6 days!! Hopefully he will be approved for it - we seem to have a lot of support behind us (teachers, doctors, paeds and speechies etc etc) for doing this so it should be OK.

We are a bit sad though cos his teacher left at the end of Term and he just loved her so it will be interesting to see how he goes with the new teahcer. Luckily we know her already and we know she is a great teacher as well. Jayne and I got together on the Teacher's last day and whipped up a little 6x6 Mini Album with photos of all the kids in the class for her as a going away gift - 32 pages later LOL I think she liked it - made her cry anyway and nearly everyone else in the room as well!!

We've had 2 huge craft shows away for the shop - the ISC down at the Gold Coast and the new ASPC at Southbank - both were great but very tiring. It is so great to catch up with everyone though - so definitely worth all the effort.

The next thing coming up for The Scrap Heap is SWIG 12 at Margate in a few weeks so we are busy getting things organised for that at the moment. Looks like we will have just under 30 ladies there and we will all be scrapping and chatting up a storm!!

I have been trying hard to get the Daily Challenges done for the shop but have almost had to admit defeat for this month as I am only up to 7 layouts for the month and it is day 27 already. No matter how many I do I still seem to have 20 more to do to catch up LOL!! I did much better in May with 23 layouts done for the challenges as well as a few extra for the Inspiration Newsletters. I think everyone wants to keep going with the Daily Challenges for the month of July as well so hopefully I will have more time to get some layouts done next month.

So Miss Chris-sy challenged us all to update and share our favourite Daily Challenge Layout that we have done this month and chosing my favourite wasn't that hard since I didn't have that many to choose from ROFL!!

So here it is - based on Michelle Mullin's Online Layout Class from the other night - my take using Scrapworks Papers and Stars and Hearts instead of Flowers LOL

Hmmm looks like it's not going to let me put in an image today so ... here is a link to it at our Gallery instead !!

It's Finally Come Out!!

Yes ... the tooth has finally come out - all on it's own as well I must say. Only took over six and a half years for the first one to go!!

He woke up yesterday morning and came in to me with a very silly look on his face and said "Here it is Mummy ... see I told you it would come out on it's own without you pulling on it". That's my boy ROFL!! Seems he just found it just lying on the bed !!

So please excuse the hideous close-up gummy photo but he was veeery pleased with himself and wanted me to take a photo - so who was I to deny my child!!

Now I'm just waiting for him to come and show me what the tooth fairy may have left for him overnight.

If the two of them ever wake up that is. How can they wake up at 5.30 - 6.oo all through the school holidays but first day back to school and they are both sleeping in past 7 ??

Happy Easter !!

Just a quick post before we pack up and go off to Mum's for lunch.

Well we had an early start this morning with the clock showing 6.15 when two very excited little boys wanting to show us their filled up Easter Baskets. That magical bunny had been and laid eggs all over their rooms - gotta love the Bunny!!

Even Mummy found an egg - well half an egg it was - filled with choc-coated licorice bits. Oh YUM YUM - just devine!!

Will share more later - and maybe some photos too !!

Have a great Easter everyone!!

What were we thinking ??

Seriously ... who goes shopping on Easter Saturday?? If we hadn't run out of Milk and Toilet Paper and Coffee and a few other major essentials we most definitely wouldn't have done it that is for sure.

What a nightmare LOL But we survived ... just.

The day started with a trip down to see Cameron's Mum for Easter as we are going to my parents tomorrow. So we rocked up with Hot Cross Buns and some eggs for them both as well. Yum but I do love fresh baked, warmed-up Hot Cross Buns with melted Butter on them ... but I digress. She seems to be going OK while FIL is in hospital. It looks like he will be coming home on Monday or Tuesday now as they ended up fusing 3 vertabrae instead of just 2 so things are taking a bit longer to get moving ... so to speak.

Then we drove back up to Morayfield and had lunch in the food court - McDonalds for the boys of course and Chinese for us. Such a healthy food day for all of us LOL Then as we were walking up to go get the groceries at Bi-Lo we saw that the Agro show was just about to start and the boys wanted to watch it. So I was tortured with a 20min show including a very tasteless song something along the lines of "Don't go in the Toilet after Daddy's been in there" - very attractive that ROFL!!

But the groceries could only be put off for so long. Can someone please tell me why it is necessary for all little boys to decide that they need to 'go wee' when you are half way round the shop and have a trolley half full of groceries. Thank God Cameron was there and took wee duty while I finished the shop. LOL The first half of which took 40 mins and the childless second half took me about 10 - typical!!

So we are now all stocked up with yummy food for the rest of the weekend and of course stopped on the way home to pick up the obligatory Pavlova for desert tomorrow from the Cheesecake Shop. More health food - but at least it's got fruit on it ROFL!!

I managed to finish a layout this morning before we went out but it's a challenge for the Newsletter so I thought I would share one that I did yesterday for the Easter Weekend VC. Not very exciting but finished nonetheless !!

Geez he looks cheeky!! And we almost got that first tooth out this morning. I asked to have a look at the wobbly tooth and gave it a nice push and heard that hideous cracking sound that even I can remember from when I was a kid but no dice ... it's still hanging in there by a thread LOL

The poor kid - six and a half and still lost no teeth *sigh* !! Maybe tomorrow LOL

Hmmm ... what to do today ??

You know I think I might scrap today!! That is after I do some washing, vacuum the house, fold up the clothes from last week and clean the kids rooms. That won't take long hey!!
